The First Call for Iranian Urban Arts

With a national sight and goal for making a professional reference for experties iranian urban arts, I was selected as the executive director of the first call for urban arts in Iran. With the participation of the Secretariat of Iran Metropolises, in winter 2014 I carried out the call for Iran’s urban art with presence and judgments of national professors such as Farshid Mesghali, Ebrahim Jafari, Mohammad Salarian, Saeed Meshki and Hadi Mozaffari.

 In my opinion, until then, no clear definition of urban art had been provided to specialized audiences, including artists and city managers who made decisions. Planning to hold this national event with the participation of the country's great artists and experts was a good and unique experience that was not continued due to the difficulties of holding and its staggering costs. This call ended in March 2015 with the identification of more than 2000 works of art and 600 artists. Later, a selection of the works of this call was made and unveiled in Kish Island and other cities of Iran.
