Spring Uncle in Kish connects the Amu Nowruz character with nature and seasonal public-space design. This SARAAJ project explores the reinterpretation of cultural symbols in an installation that contributes to a place’s identity.
Uncle Nowruz and ancient Iranian rituals are very attractive and lovable for all of us Iranians. The urban element of spring uncle shows the connection of spring with nature.
This statue has been designed and executed with all of Amu Nowruz physical features in the public belief and tradition of the people.
This project, along with other development of artistic spaces projects in Kish Island, including urban decoration, permanent and temporary urban elements, was designed and executed by Saraaj Urban Art Department for Creation and Development of Art Spaces for the order of Kish Island Urban Management in May 2020.
