The Statue of Mirza Haseb

One of the goals and missions of urban sculptures and elements is to introduce the glory of the past as well as conserve and commemorate it. Bodies of research in the history and identity of Bandar Abbas city illustrated that due to the location of the city on the commercial road, and being one of the most important centers of import and export of Iran, during the past decades and centuries, an accouters’ job in the area has been of high importance. One of the oldest and most famous Iranian accountants was from this city, who had his own unique style in accounting and bookkeeping.

After researching and identifying this character and obtaining information about the way of dressing and appearance of people of Bandar Abbas at that time, we commenced design of the statue. The creation of Mirza Haseb's statue was the result of collective thinking of city managers, historians and prominent urban artists.

The sculpture with four meters high and made of fiberglass is located on the beach of Bandar Abbas. Next to this, an inscription and information about the character is written and created. This statue was made by Amir Mahdi Vosoogh.
