SARAAJ to Publish Persian Edition of How Does Disney Do That? with the Author’s Official Permission

Original English edition of How Does Disney Do That by James Warda, announcing the forthcoming Persian translation by SARAAJ

SARAAJ will publish the Persian translation of How Does Disney Do That? by James Warda, translated by Mohsen Saraji, with the author’s official permission. The title forms part of the SARAAJ Library project, which plans to publish 20 books by the end of Iranian year 1405, in March 2027.

The initiative aims to expand Persian-language access to specialist and interdisciplinary resources connecting experience design, storytelling and creativity.

Exploring the Emotional Connection Behind Disney Experiences

Why can a story, a place or a brief encounter stay with us for years? How Does Disney Do That?: How Disney Makes Us Feel and Why It Matters examines the emotional connections people form with Disney experiences.

James Warda brings together stories from audiences and insights from people involved in creating these experiences. The book features major contributions from Theron Skees, a former creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, and a foreword by former Imagineer and Disney Legend Joe Rohde. The original English edition is published by Rivershore Press.

What This Means for Experience Designers

For SARAAJ’s professional community, the book raises a practical question: how can we create experiences that people connect with emotionally and remember?

It offers a starting point for reflection among experience designers, architects, themed entertainment professionals, tourism practitioners, brand managers and storytellers. Reading it through a local lens can prompt questions about how such insights might inform cultural spaces, events, visitor destinations and brand experiences within our own social and cultural contexts.

SARAAJ Library: A Plan to Publish 20 Books

SARAAJ Library is a translation and publishing initiative connecting five areas: experience, story, creation, the future and human life. It extends SARAAJ’s work by making knowledge and perspectives available to readers working across design, culture and creative business.

The project plans to publish 20 books by the end of Iranian year 1405, in March 2027. The forthcoming Persian edition of How Does Disney Do That?, published with the author’s official permission, is one step in that programme. Further details about its release and availability will be announced once finalised.
