Jury Statement for the Photography Festival of Ghahramanan Amusement Park
Photography is significant both as an expressive, widely used art form and as a medium closely connected to everyday life.
The jury of the first Ghahramanan Amusement Park Photography Festival is pleased that the park’s managers and advisers recognise this importance. Collaboration between economic and industrial organisations and the private commercial sector can produce valuable outcomes. The festival offers an example of this potential, clearly reflected in the photographs submitted.
Joy and family are two closely connected themes that our society needs today. Ghahramanan has made them part of its mission, and photography provides a powerful way to reveal their different expressions.
The quantity and quality of submissions impressed the jury and demonstrated the potential within the photographic community. With appreciation for every photographer who took part, the jury reviewed 600 works by 64 photographers. Following careful consideration, 45 works were selected for the exhibition. In a close competition, three works received ranked awards and three additional artists received commendations.
With respect,
Faramarz Amel Bordbar, Amin Ebrahimi and Hamid Sobhani
