A Joint Project by HICHAA Gallery and Baran Holding

Creating a Dream

Art is one of today’s important and valuable markets. The acquisition of artworks as assets has grown into a significant economic activity. Major international auctions show how art can attract investment while also creating cultural value. In this respect, cultural investment differs from conventional assets by offering owners both material and non-material benefits.
At the time of the original article, Iran’s art economy was described as a relatively young market. For several years, HICHAA Gallery had been collecting work by emerging Iranian artists while seeking to improve relationships between artists and investors. Alongside encouraging art collecting, we aimed to establish a stronger place for artworks in the design of hotels, residential towers, hospitals and similar spaces.

The certificate of authenticity is issued in English with HICHAA Gallery’s distinctive graphic design. It records technical information such as dimensions and materials, as well as details of the artist and purchaser.

In Esfand 1401, HICHAA Gallery proposed purchasing artworks as New Year gifts for the clients of Baran Construction Holding. The proposal was warmly received.
Once the collaboration began, HICHAA Gallery assembled a specialist team of artists and art experts to select works in response to clients’ characteristics and interests. Nearly one hundred works were ultimately purchased from young and emerging artists, directing funds into the artistic economy of Mashhad and other Iranian cities. The next stage was to issue documentation and verify the authenticity of the original works. The certificate of authenticity is issued in English with HICHAA Gallery’s distinctive graphic design. Alongside satisfying clients and creating a distinctive experience, our work with Baran Holding sought to invite other investment and construction organisations—including hotels, hospitals, and residential and office towers—to recognise art and artists as social assets. By participating in the art economy and developing a culture of buying and giving artworks to employees and clients, these organisations can also contribute to their social responsibilities.

Packaging the artworks was the final stage. We sought to combine appropriate materials and visual appeal with protection against damage throughout the design and production of the packaging.

This collaboration marked the beginning of a path that we continue to pursue, despite its obstacles, in support of art investment and the art economy. Our long-term vision leaves much to do. At HICHAA Gallery, we remain committed to this mission and to advancing it together with investors and art enthusiasts.
