Design process of Imam Hassan Mojtabi mosque in Rauf commercial and residential complex on Nawab Street, Mashhad, started in 2014 by the request of Ahmad Qandharion, one of our country's construction pioneers. I carried out the project according to minimalistic expression of key design concepts, including concept of global peace.
The area allocated to this project was about 80 square meters and our biggest challenge was to adjust space limitation based on male and female prayers of the mosque. In fact, it doubled the performance of our executive limitations in the design. In addition to that, we had to consider two indicators of peace and proximity of the mosque to the holy shrine of Imam Reza.
A new perspective in mosques designing and spiritual places in a logical transition from tradition to modernism with respect to identity and originality of the place is needed. This necessity is felt in a joint dialogue between the audience, designers, clients and regulatory organizations. This project will soon be carried out in Rauf project in the vicinity of holy shrine of Imam Reza on Nawab Street.
