The identity and indigenous assets of Iranian culture in design and implementation of urban elements, not only displays identity and authenticity but introduce glories and legends of the society to the people. Shahnameh is the magnificent and glorious book of a great and precious poet of our land, Ferdowsi, who has revived Persian language and is considered as a rich source to inspire artists to design artworks adapted by it. The story of Siavash and his passage through the fire is one of the most beautiful and epic stories in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh that its symbolic aspects has added valuable layers to it.
The memorial statue of Siavash passing through the fire with a height of 7.20 meters made of iron was designed and implemented by a famous sculptor of our country, Mr. Mohammad Salarian, and is located on Adabiat Junction in Mashhad. The expression and technique used in making of the artwork as well as its appropriate placement has made this urban element into one of the most lasting works of art in Mashhad.
