The Need to Develop a Strategic Document to Beautify the City

Despite the formation of specialized institutions in cities that are responsible for managing and directing urban art flows, so far we have not witnessed the development of a long-term strategic document to manage such flows.

The city is a place where mobility, continuity and development are its outstanding specifications, it’s an atmosphere in which artistic monuments are considered the identifying elements of the city, as most cities in the world can be identified by these signs. All the ancient cities that have been preserved in the memory of history have had a collection of monuments, sculptures, fountains and works of art in squares, passages and public places. These are elements whose harmony and proportion have made the urban environment eye-catching and have been the connecting factor between humans and the environment
Therefore, addressing the role of works of art in urban spaces, in addition to representing the urban identity and strengthening the dynamism of the city, indicates an increase in citizens' satisfaction with city managers, which is a special tool of art for people to be present in public spaces and the spread of happiness and empathy in people
Urban arts, in addition to satisfying the aesthetic sense of citizens, transform the urban space into an urban place with a sense of belonging. Providing opportunities for people’s presence in the city, reforming the culture of citizenship, teaching religious topics, representing individual nostalgia, increasing visual literacy, improving the morals of citizens, creating an attractive, energizing and growing environment are other achievements of urban arts.
Undoubtedly, providing a contemporary interpretation of the role of art in urban spaces and explaining the desired perspective requires extensive study of social backgrounds, careful study of artistic elements, group working among professionals and careful planning of strategies and stages of implementation of art projects. But despite the formation of specialized institutions in cities that are responsible for managing and directing urban art currents, so far we have not seen the development of a long-term strategic document to manage such flows. Before preparing such documents, it is necessary for artists and city managers to become familiar with more comprehensive definitions of applied arts in the city. This highlights the need to use creative artistic .ideas based on specialized knowledge in urban management
