The Farabazi coffee shop sits alongside bowling, considering rest and waiting time as parts of the guest journey. A bespoke counter and a figure linked to the central bowling-ball installation extend the venue’s narrative into a hospitality space.
A coffee shop combines aspects of a café and a small restaurant, serving hot and cold drinks and a range of food. In leisure destinations such as Farabazi, providing a comfortable place to rest is an important part of caring for guests.
After physical and mental activity, visitors need somewhere to sit and unwind. A coffee shop offers a convenient setting for a short break and a drink with family and friends.
We placed the 98-square-metre coffee shop at Farabazi in Ghahramanan Amusement Park beside the bowling area, allowing guests who are waiting for a game or resting after activity to use its facilities.
One of Ghahramanan’s key sculptural elements stands at the Farabazi coffee-shop counter. This human figure has thrown a bowling ball, which appears in the central installation with one half on the ground and the other beyond the physical, tangible world. The dialogue between these two elements is central to Farabazi’s thematic identity.
The figure was designed and fabricated at approximately four metres high and two metres wide. The coffee-shop counter was also designed specifically for this space.
