Atlas Sculpture

Atlas, meaning “bearer” or “supporter” in Greek mythology, belongs to the class of pre-Olympian gods—extraordinary and mythical beings.

The Atlas sculpture aboard this starship is inspired by the character Atlas from Greek mythology.

The image of Atlas carrying the heavens on his shoulders symbolizes strength and endurance. This emblem has been used across cultures as a representation of perseverance and heavy responsibility. Additionally, the term “Atlas” in various languages refers to world maps, indirectly alluding to the vast knowledge and capability that Atlas embodies.

In some narratives, Atlas’s efforts to escape the burden of the heavens are in vain. This serves as a metaphor for humanity’s futile attempts to evade their responsibilities.
