The overarching concept behind the City Star project is the notion of humanity’s collective decision to leave planet Earth and embark on an interstellar voyage to a new habitable planet. This decision is driven by a combination of factors that will make Earth uninhabitable in the future.

The Starship: A Vessel of Hope and Innovation

Over the years, the inhabitants of Earth have meticulously selected a replacement planet and constructed a starship capable of traveling at the speed of light. The journey to this new home will be an epic interstellar adventure, spanning centuries. To ensure the survival and well-being of the passengers throughout this long voyage, the starship is equipped with advanced technology, comprehensive amenities, and intelligent systems designed to support life for generations to come.

The Essence of Human Ingenuity and Sacrifice

Human nature and common sense dictate that for such a one-way journey, only the most precious, valuable, high-quality, and functional items would be brought along. Due to the limitations of space, it is not possible to transport all of Earth’s natural and artificial creations and inhabitants onto the starship. Nevertheless, the goal is to provide the best possible living experience for the generations who will spend their entire lives on this interstellar journey, sacrificing their existence for the greater good of humanity.

City Star Food Court: A Culinary and Artistic Oasis

Within the starship, the food court serves as a convergence point for artistic expression. Art is essential for human survival and well-being, providing solace, refinement, and a momentary escape from the uncertainties of life. Throughout the journey, it is crucial to expose the starship’s inhabitants to various art forms to foster a sense of tranquility and preserve the essence of Earth’s artistic heritage.

The diverse art forms, including painting, sculpture, installations, video art, performance art, and more, will be seamlessly integrated with the culinary experience (in line with the food court’s purpose) to fulfill the multifaceted needs of the starship’s passengers (City Star visitors).

The art pieces are meticulously designed, drawing inspiration from the works of renowned contemporary artists and reinterpreted through the lens of various artistic movements. These include the works of Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Mondrian, Chadwick, David Smith, Max Ernst, Giacometti, Viktor Tolgyes, Calder, Joan Miró, Banksy, and many more.

Key Elements of the Food Court

• Main Wall: Inspired by Piet Mondrian’s works, this wall features colorful boxes moving along a spiral track, creating a sense of motion.
• Wall of Stars: Based on Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” painting, this interactive wall serves as a space to honor influential individuals from society, particularly from the city of Mashhad. These individuals are recognized as the city’s stars, each represented by a star on the wall, similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
• Nostalgia Street: This street evokes a specific earthly street, allowing visitors to experience the four seasons of Earth.
• Stargram: An interactive social media platform exclusive to City Star, Stargram facilitates engagement and communication with users, similar to the main page for promoting and advertising brands within City Star.
• Star Coin: City Star’s own currency, Star Coin, can be purchased or earned as rewards and gifts.
• Atlas Statue: Atlas, a Greek Titan, was responsible for bearing the weight of the heavens, granting him profound knowledge of the stars. This mythological figure holds numerous stories and is also the name of a mountain range in northwestern Africa and a vast ocean. Some attribute to Atlas the creation of the first celestial globe.
• Look at Earth Sometimes: An interactive tool that allows starship passengers to view planet Earth at various times, providing them with insights into their home planet and its current state.
