Every year, on different occasions, dozens of sculptures and voluminous works are installed by municipalities, city managers and the private sectors in urban spaces.
This movement, if well managed, can play an important role in improving the quality of urban spaces, people's morale and vitality, and play a significant role in enriching urban life through artistic expression.
The most appropriate way to beautify environmental spaces and create spaces for citizens to concentrate and interact is to build temporary urban sculptures that are in harmony with their environmental spaces so that citizens can communicate well with them.
In this regard, in addition to the artist's skill in creating a beautiful and appropriate volume work,
use of landscape designers, architects and industrial designers is mandatory in order to identify urban spaces as well as appropriate and effective layouts.
Sometimes we see elements in the form of statues of great historical and cultural figures, and sometimes in the form of symbols and signs that, in addition to beauty, have a deep meaning and make us stop and stare at them for a moment.
In most cases, these statues and figures have become a symbol for the place where they are located, and all citizens know that part of the city by that address.
The content of the urban sculptures is completely dependent on the occasions desired by the employer. In the Urban Art department, based on our previous experiences, we have selected the following categories for designing and constructing urban elements.
Real sculptures:
The approach of this section is to present a realistic sculpture of national, religious and historical etc. The audience of these works are mainly the general public, and if performed professionally, it can also establish a good relationship with the audience.
Conceptual and modern elements:
In this section, the concept forms the most important aspect of the work of art and the audience is in effective contact with the concept of the work.
Cities and other urban centers need conceptual and modern works of art to enhance their audience's visual literacy. This concept can be chosen according to the urban and social identity of the employer
Fantasy elements and sculptures:
In urban fantasy works, imagination helps to convey the concept considered by urban designers.
The audience of the works in this section are generally children and the general level of society, and the concepts in question do not have much depth, but paying attention to them is generally very important for urban managers.
Saraaj Center for the Creation and Development of Art Spaces, as the only specialized reference in the urban arts of the country, has designed and produced many works in the form of fantasy elements and sculptures in the country.
New Year element:
The idea of making Nowrouz elements in order to create urban joy and vitality and the importance of Iranian customs began in 2007 in Mashhad in the form of welcome spring designs.
Since the management of Saraaj Center for Creation and Development of Art Spaces was one of the managers at the time of the project and the founder of this project, every year they have transferred this experience to different cities of the country in the form of making Nowrouz elements.
A collection of various approaches to urban expression with the focus on the concepts of Nowrouz, ritual, national and happiness and spring elements in the design package of Nowrouz urban artistic elements are considered by us. In addition to viewing these elements in the Urban Elements section of the website, you can also view other related works in the Urban Elements section by visiting the website's blog in the managerial experiences section.
Enclosure of construction projects:
One of the most important tasks of city managers, construction project managers and the private sector is to cover the projects under construction so that in addition to beautifying the site and the project area, they convey cultural, aesthetic and social concepts to the audience in the form of this enclosure. Examples of these projects designed and executed by the Saraaj Center for the Creation and Development of Art Spaces can be found in the Urban Elements section of the website.
Lighting element:
Designers will pay attention to the readability of the night in most of the elements designed by us. But in this section, the transfer of concepts is considered mostly through structures that are more placed in situations that operate at night or in low light lux.
Typography:
The definition of the word typography states: the art and technique of character arrangement (typography) to represent the language. In fact, typography is the art of arranging letters for a visual language, enhancing the visual character of the letters and making the text closer to the image to convey a concept. Typographic elements mostly serve to convey religious concepts, urban brand or occasional topics such as New Year greetings and etc. Choosing the right calligraphy and artists in this section is one of the most important pillars of providing a suitable typography for the urban space.
Cartoon and child elements:
With the aim of connecting the virtual world and children's imagination from animated spaces to reality, both in the form of nostalgia and in today's structure, preferably global or domestic animations, according to location and time are chosen with the aim of conveying the concept of urban designers. Therefore, by referring to the urban elements section, you can see examples of these urban elements that have been built and installed by Saraaj Center for the Creation and Development of Art Spaces.
Urban squares:
Today, designing and recreating urban squares with an emphasis on social interactions based on the principles of urban planning and also based on urban identity is an interdisciplinary project based on the full capacity of specialists in architecture, civil engineering, visual arts and green space and other experts. Therefore, the Saraaj Center for Creation and Development of Art Spaces by relying on its records and expert team, is designing the Vahdat Square project as a complete example of an urban square project.
